Sportsturf Solutions, the specialised sporting surfaces division of Landscape Solutions, is making excellent progress on the reconstruction of the 40,000 square metre Koola Park Sportsfields project. Major earthworks are underway to create the new shape that will accommodate four (4) purpose-built sportsfields, a synthetic cricket wicket and a new seven (7) pitch turf cricket table. We are working proactively with our client Ku-ring-gai Council to achieve the best value for money outcomes for the community and the sporting clubs.
Installation of a state-of-the-art irrigation system is also in full swing. The new system which will deliver uniform surface coverage to sustain the turf for many years to come. Drainage works will commence over the coming weeks intended to remove excess water from the surface to achieve a rapid return to play during and after rain events. Much of this water will be harvested and stored in the existing 600,000 litre water tank for use to irrigate the turf.
This premium grade community facility will be further enhanced through the installation of a 100 lux sportsfield lighting system that will provide for nightime training and match play. Koola Park continues the Landscape Solutions tradition of working with our clients to maximise outcomes for user groups and the broader community. Koola Park is due to re-open in late March 2016.
