The new Cahill Street Playground in Annandale is officially open. Built by our construction team, it was delivered for Inner West Council, with landscape architecture by Civille. The new space was completed as part of the NSW Government’s Public Spaces Legacy Program.
Previously a house, this portion of land was transformed by council into a pocket of green space for one of New South Wales most populated council areas.
While this park may be smaller in size, it certainly isn’t lacking in details. From the pathways that blend sandstone, exposed pavers and recycled bricks to the bespoke furniture, and three metre high public art pier, this vibrant park manages to pack a punch with the abundance of materials, surfaces and colours.
Located in a inner city back street, access was extremely tight. A Sydney Water easement also ran through the site which had to be accomodated.
Our scope of works included demolition works, tree protection, the construction of retaining walls, paving of an accessible pathway, sandstone walls, along with hydraulic and drainage works. Our team also installed steel balustrades, handrails, furniture, a water fountain and play equipment.
