Bingara Gorge Park & Greenbridge East Park

Bingara Gorge Park & Greenbridge East Park

Client: Metro Property Development

Our NSW construction team has just delivered two custom-built parks at Bingara Gorge, officially opened last Friday by our client Metro Property Development and Wollondilly Shire Council Mayor Matt Gould.

Designed by Landscape Architects GroupGSA, Bingara Gorge Park and Greenbridge East Park span 7,000 square metres and provide the community with play spaces, picnic facilities, a half basketball court, a skate park, plenty of green space to kick a ball around, fitness equipment and walking tracks.

Play equipment includes everything from a bespoke climbing tower and slide, stepping logs, swing sets, water play and more. There’s even space for community pooches, with a dog park and agility equipment.

“Metro is focused on developing a walkable and thriving community, designed to embrace the beautiful natural surroundings with over 200 hectares of open spaces. The new playgrounds are places for people to meet, socialise and play. They promote multi-sensory learning and physical development for all levels and abilities,” said Jeff Atkinson, Project Director at Metro Property Development.

“Facilities for family BBQ’s, shade structures, fitness equipment for all ages has become an essential part of master planned communities. Native plant species have been expertly selected in the parks to complement and enhance the natural environment within Bingara Gorge,” he added.

“The custom-designed parks reflect the local bushland and broader Southern Highlands backdrop, with an informal colourful landscape and overlay of the tree canopy which is characteristic of the region. Greenbridge East Park offers play for smaller children along with shelters to observe wildlife interacting with the water body, while Bingara Gorge Park has a range of active recreational facilities for both small and larger community gatherings,” added Tim Buckle, Managing Director at Landscape Solutions.

“These carefully designed parks will help with increased social skills through socialising in an outdoors environment, encourage cognitive development with interactive play for kids and build on the strength and fitness of kids, teens and adults through the inclusion of walking tracks, skate park and fitness stations. Outdoor activities enrich people’s lives – a positive outcome for both physical and mental health.”
