Three times its original size, the new and improved Walter Gors park is accessible and fun, offering something for the whole family. Friends and family can fire up one of the BBQs and enjoy a picnic at either the long bench seating and picnic tables under the shade structure, or roll out a picnic rug and relax beneath one of the shady trees.
Kids, young and old, will be entertained by the water play area, hone their balance skills in the nature play areas, slide down the slippery dip at the bespoke rocket ship playground, and pump out some reps in the exercise alley. Bringing the park’s visitors closer together in learning, is the community herb garden. Accessible toilets are also on site, along with a space ready for a future café.
Located between Howard Avenue and Dee Why Parade, the park is named in honour of Walter Gors, a WWI Veteran who worked for Warringah Council for many years as the Shire Clerk. Walter Gors Park, along with Redman Road Plaza form part of the Dee Why Town Centre Upgrade.
